Photography composition
Vertical (2016)
Vertical – picture is taller than it is wide.
This photo was taken this past May at junior cotillion. My friend Jerry who does photography, took this picture going vertically so that you could see more of my outfit.
Lowkey (2016)
Low key – dark, less intense, inactive
This picture was taken in a dark abandoned parking garage. It is “low key” because the lighting was extremely low. The photo had to be edited just so that you could see me.
Framing (2015)
Framing – shooting through something to get the main subject behind it. The subject is “framed” by something in the foreground.
This picture is from when my friend Brittany (who is a photographer) and i went out on a “adventure” to find cool things to take pictures of. The tunnel is working as the frame in the photo to see the outgoing sign with water behind it. This technique added a cool looking effect since the tunnel was so dark.
focus (2015)
Focus- how sharp or soft the concentration is in a photo
My best friend Adam took this picture when he first got his Canon T3. He had been trying out the sharp manual focus for the first time. Behind me you and see Jade looking blurry and out of focus.
Distance (far)(2016)
Distance- the amount of space in the frame
This picture was a “distance” photo. It was taken with such a large frame because If you want to be exact, the photo was taken “far” and “lowkey” with a middle angle. The distance was so far so that you could see everyone's cars.
